Dynamic Hyperlink on Word DocAssist Editor Ribbon
The Dynamic Hyperlink tool allows the DocAssist Editor to insert a web page or email link into a DocAssist precedent.
Some examples of its use are:
- As a link in an engagement letter for the client to click to email the lawyer that terms of engagement are accepted, including details of the matter.
- As a link in a sign off for a letter to allow the recipent to either email the sender and/or view the website of the sender.
Dynamic Hyperlink
Select the Hyperlink button in the Assemble Grouping on the Word/DocAssist Editor Ribbon.

The following dialog will appear (for type Email)

Setting up a Dynamic Hyperlink Email or Web page link in your DocAssist Precedent
- Select the Hyperlink button
- Select Type = Email (mailto) or Webpage
- Add Text to Display
- Add Screentip (if required)
- For an email type
- Add a static email address or a DocAssist User or Contact Email content control tagname ie [AuthorEmail]
- Add a cc email address as above (if required)
- Add a Bcc email address as above (if required)
- Add a subject for email (can include DocAssist content control tagnames ie [MatterName]
- Add body of email (can include DocAssist content control tagnames ie [AuthorName]
- For a webpage type
- Add url for webpage ie https://support.docassist.com.au
- Select Insert button
- A content control is inserted into your document at cursor location
Edting a Dynamic Hyperlink Email/Webpage in your DocAssist PrecedentPrecedent
- Select the Hyperlink button
- From the Link dropdown select the email link or webpage link to edit.
- Modify the details as required
- Select Update
Using the Dynamic Hyperlink
The Dynamic Link is created on selecting the Ctrl button/mouse click combination (the same as a standard Word hyperlink).
